Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.64%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking , Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.64% to hit a new 5-year high.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT: BOCHGRr ), which rose 4.49% or 0.24 points to trade at 5.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Alumil (AT: ALMr ) added 3.00% or 0.13 points to end at 4.30 and Austriacard Holdings AG (AT: ACAGr ) was up 2.83% or 0.17 points to 6.17 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Kri-Kri Milk (AT: KRIr ), which fell 2.06% or 0.35 points to trade at 16.60 at the close. Ekter (AT: EKTr ) declined 1.82% or 0.04 points to end at 2.15 and Titan Cement International SA (AT: TITCr ) was down 1.76% or 0.75 points to 41.95.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 76 to 49 and 21 ended unchanged.

Shares in Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT: BOCHGRr ) rose to all time highs; rising 4.49% or 0.24 to 5.58.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.49% or 43.35 to $2,944.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.82% or 0.58 to hit $71.29 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.12% or 0.09 to trade at $75.31 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 106.79.
