Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.71%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms , Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.71%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Intracom Holdings SA (AT: INRr ), which rose 2.87% or 0.09 points to trade at 3.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Autohellas (AT: AUTr ) added 1.28% or 0.14 points to end at 11.10 and Iktinos Hellas (AT: IKTr ) was unchanged 1.23% or 0.00 points to 0.37 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Ekter (AT: EKTr ), which fell 3.25% or 0.07 points to trade at 2.09 at the close. Avax SA (AT: AVAr ) declined 2.51% or 0.06 points to end at 2.14 and Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT: BOCHGRr ) was down 2.51% or 0.14 points to 5.44.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 89 to 40 and 15 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.05% or 1.39 to $2,950.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.65% or 0.47 to hit $72.30 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.51% or 0.39 to trade at $76.23 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 107.06.
