Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.37%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumption , Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.37%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Automob Participações SA (BVMF: AMOB3 ), which rose 3.85% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF: CVCB3 ) added 1.66% or 0.03 points to end at 1.84 and WEG SA (BVMF: WEGE3 ) was up 1.63% or 0.85 points to 52.95 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Lojas Renner SA (BVMF: LREN3 ), which fell 14.00% or 1.92 points to trade at 11.79 at the close. Petroreconcavo SA (BVMF: RECV3 ) declined 4.78% or 0.81 points to end at 16.14 and Embraer SA (BVMF: EMBR3 ) was down 3.67% or 2.25 points to 58.98.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 468 to 465 and 54 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.18% to 28.67.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.19% or 5.71 to $2,950.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 3.09% or 2.24 to hit $70.24 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.46% or 1.80 to trade at $388.10 .

USD/BRL was up 0.45% to 5.73, while EUR/BRL unchanged 0.06% to 6.00.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 106.55.
