Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.38%
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV: Q ), which rose 3.21% or 6.25 points to trade at 201.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV: BOLSAA ) added 2.80% or 1.02 points to end at 37.49 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV: GFNORTEO ) was up 2.35% or 3.46 points to 151.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV: ORBIA ), which fell 4.55% or 0.67 points to trade at 14.07 at the close. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: ALSEA ) declined 3.00% or 1.42 points to end at 45.90 and Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV: VOLARA ) was down 2.97% or 0.40 points to 13.08.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 132 to 105 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.51% or 15.00 to $2,933.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.20% or 0.14 to hit $68.79 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.34% or 0.25 to trade at $72.25 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.25% to 20.41, while EUR/MXN fell 0.56% to 21.39.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 106.46.
