France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 1.15%
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials , Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.15%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ), which rose 5.39% or 1.43 points to trade at 27.97 at the close. Meanwhile, Schneider Electric SE (EPA: SCHN ) added 3.22% or 7.45 points to end at 238.50 and Teleperformance SE (EPA: TEPRF ) was up 3.17% or 3.20 points to 104.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ), which fell 3.95% or 0.53 points to trade at 12.95 at the close. Vivendi SA (EPA: VIV ) declined 2.94% or 0.09 points to end at 2.87 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA: STMPA ) was down 2.50% or 0.65 points to 25.16.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Clariane SE (EPA: CLARI ) which rose 6.96% to 3.04, Emeis SA (EPA: EMEIS ) which was up 6.37% to settle at 10.00 and SES (EPA: SESFd ) which gained 5.85% to close at 3.87.
The worst performers were Worldline SA (EPA: WLN ) which was down 17.01% to 6.16 in late trade, Euroapi SAS (EPA: EAPI ) which lost 7.21% to settle at 2.63 and Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ) which was down 3.95% to 12.95 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 266 to 226 and 99 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.39% or 1.43 to 27.97.
The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.34% or 9.86 to $2,928.66 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $68.85 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.23 to trade at $72.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 106.20.
