Portugal stocks higher at close of trade; PSI up 0.17%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials , Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.17%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ), which rose 3.95% or 0.12 points to trade at 3.11 at the close. Meanwhile, Corticeira Amorim (ELI: CORA ) added 1.46% or 0.12 points to end at 8.32 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ) was up 1.44% or 0.10 points to 7.06 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI: EDPR ), which fell 2.04% or 0.18 points to trade at 8.41 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI: EDP ) declined 1.61% or 0.05 points to end at 3.06 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI: IBS ) was down 0.23% or 0.02 points to 8.52.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 12 and 2 ended unchanged.

Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.44% or 0.10 to 7.06.

Brent oil for May delivery was down 0.22% or 0.16 to $72.65 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.43% or 0.30 to hit $69.46 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.86% or 52.99 to trade at $2,901.49 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 1.15% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.02% at 106.46.
