Russia stocks lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index down 0.45%
Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Power , Mining and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index fell 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were PhosAgro PJSC (MCX: PHOR ), which rose 6.12% or 401.00 points to trade at 6,950.00 at the close. Meanwhile, MMC NORILSK NICKEL PJSC (MCX: GMKN ) added 2.94% or 3.70 points to end at 129.60 and PIK SHb PJSC (MCX: PIKK ) was up 2.62% or 14.40 points to 563.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LUKOIL PJSC (MCX: LKOH ), which fell 0.36% or 26.00 points to trade at 7,265.00 at the close. Transneft PJSC Pref (MCX: TRNF_p ) declined 0.31% or 4.00 points to end at 1,231.00 and Magnit PJSC (MCX: MGNT ) was down 0.25% or 11.50 points to 4,677.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 124 to 122 and 6 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 2.10% to 41.95.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.34% or 10.40 to $3,054.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $69.20 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $72.54 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 84.63, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 91.32.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 103.86.
