Italy stocks higher at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 up 1.05%

Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials , Chemicals and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.05%.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were UniCredit SpA (BIT: CRDI ), which rose 3.29% or 1.76 points to trade at 55.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Mediolanum SpA (BIT: BMED ) added 2.28% or 0.34 points to end at 15.27 and Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (BIT: ISP ) was up 2.20% or 0.11 points to 4.94 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Pirelli & C SPA (BIT: PIRC ), which fell 2.51% or 0.15 points to trade at 5.75 at the close. Prysmian SpA (BIT: PRY ) declined 1.29% or 0.74 points to end at 56.76 and Saipem SpA (BIT: SPMI ) was down 1.18% or 0.03 points to 2.18.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 324 to 223 and 49 ended unchanged.

Shares in UniCredit SpA (BIT: CRDI ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 3.29% or 1.76 to 55.28. Shares in Banca Mediolanum SpA (BIT: BMED ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.28% or 0.34 to 15.27.

Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.29% or 0.20 to $68.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.14% or 0.10 to hit $72.27 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 12.99 to trade at $3,056.99 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 103.69.
