France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.96%
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare , Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.96%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA: TTEF ), which rose 3.16% or 1.85 points to trade at 60.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Thales (EPA: TCFP ) added 1.13% or 2.80 points to end at 251.00 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA: URW ) was up 0.86% or 0.66 points to 77.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA: MICP ), which fell 6.05% or 2.07 points to trade at 32.14 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA: STMPA ) declined 4.01% or 0.90 points to end at 21.55 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA: SCHN ) was down 2.39% or 5.60 points to 228.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA: ETL ) which rose 49.56% to 5.10, Emeis SA (EPA: EMEIS ) which was up 9.60% to settle at 11.40 and Clariane SE (EPA: CLARI ) which gained 6.16% to close at 4.48.
The worst performers were Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA: MICP ) which was down 6.05% to 32.14 in late trade, Trigano SA (EPA: TRIA ) which lost 4.53% to settle at 118.00 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA: STDM ) which was down 4.53% to 184.35 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 280 to 202 and 78 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.11% or 3.24 to $3,051.06 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.14% or 0.79 to hit $69.79 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.76 to trade at $73.15 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 104.02.
