Belgium stocks lower at close of trade; BEL 20 down 1.07%
Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare , Consumer Goods and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 1.07%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (EBR: ELI ), which rose 2.44% or 2.00 points to trade at 84.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Sofina (EBR: SOF ) added 2.40% or 5.80 points to end at 247.60 and Solvay SA (EBR: SOLB ) was up 1.11% or 0.38 points to 34.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR: UCB ), which fell 4.42% or 7.75 points to trade at 167.50 at the close. D’Ieteren NV (EBR: IETB ) declined 2.87% or 4.90 points to end at 165.70 and Melexis NV (EBR: MLXS ) was down 2.87% or 1.65 points to 55.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 61 to 31 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.11% or 3.34 to $3,050.96 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.16% or 0.80 to hit $69.80 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.08% or 0.78 to trade at $73.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 104.02.
