Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.68%
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumption , Real Estate and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF: ASAI3 ), which rose 5.57% or 0.42 points to trade at 7.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Telefonica Brasil SA (BVMF: VIVT3 ) added 4.96% or 2.47 points to end at 52.30 and Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF: RENT3 ) was up 4.50% or 1.51 points to 35.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Natura & Co SA (BVMF: NTCO3 ), which fell 7.91% or 0.79 points to trade at 9.20 at the close. Braskem SA (BVMF: BRKM5 ) declined 3.45% or 0.38 points to end at 10.62 and Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ) was down 2.74% or 0.09 points to 3.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 475 to 452 and 50 ended unchanged.
Shares in Natura & Co SA (BVMF: NTCO3 ) fell to 5-year lows; losing 7.91% or 0.79 to 9.20. Shares in Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ) fell to all time lows; falling 2.74% or 0.09 to 3.20.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.00% to 28.63.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.09% or 2.79 to $3,153.09 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.46% or 0.33 to hit $71.15 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract rose 2.53% or 9.60 to trade at $389.35 .
USD/BRL was down 0.32% to 5.69, while EUR/BRL fell 0.55% to 6.14.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 103.92.
