France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.22%

Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials , Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.22%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.24%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA: PERP ), which rose 1.56% or 1.44 points to trade at 93.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (EPA: ENGIE ) added 1.46% or 0.27 points to end at 18.43 and Accor SA (EPA: ACCP ) was up 1.26% or 0.53 points to 42.61 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Airbus Group SE (EPA: AIR ), which fell 3.17% or 5.32 points to trade at 162.74 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA: TEPRF ) declined 2.74% or 2.54 points to end at 90.30 and Societe Generale SA (EPA: SOGN ) was down 1.71% or 0.71 points to 40.72.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA: ATOS ) which unchanged 5.13% to 0.00, Worldline SA (EPA: WLN ) which was up 3.90% to settle at 6.19 and Soitec SA (EPA: SOIT ) which gained 3.20% to close at 51.00.

The worst performers were Nexity (EPA: NEXI ) which was down 6.91% to 9.37 in late trade, Forvia (EPA: FRVIA ) which lost 6.80% to settle at 6.91 and Amundi SA (EPA: AMUN ) which was down 6.79% to 68.00 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 301 to 193 and 79 ended unchanged.

Shares in Engie SA (EPA: ENGIE ) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.46% or 0.27 to 18.43. Shares in Forvia (EPA: FRVIA ) fell to 5-year lows; falling 6.80% or 0.50 to 6.91.

The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.72% or 22.56 to $3,168.56 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.39% or 0.28 to hit $71.48 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.18 to trade at $74.67 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 103.42.
