Netherlands stocks lower at close of trade; AEX down 2.67%
Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Oil & Gas and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 2.67% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS: KPN ), which rose 2.78% or 0.11 points to trade at 4.03 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever PLC (AS: ULVR ) added 2.31% or 1.28 points to end at 56.76 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS: AD ) was up 1.65% or 0.57 points to 35.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adyen NV (AS: ADYEN ), which fell 8.07% or 114.60 points to trade at 1,306.20 at the close. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS: BESI ) declined 7.79% or 7.60 points to end at 89.90 and Aegon Ltd (AS: AEGN ) was down 7.54% or 0.46 points to 5.66.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 78 to 20 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke KPN NV (AS: KPN ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.78% or 0.11 to 4.03. Shares in BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS: BESI ) fell to 52-week lows; down 7.79% or 7.60 to 89.90.
The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 6.94% or 4.98 to $66.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 6.55% or 4.91 to hit $70.04 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.27% or 40.30 to trade at $3,125.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.70% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP rose 1.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.75% at 101.68.
