Italy stocks lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 3.55%
Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology , Financials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 3.55% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA (BIT: TRN ), which rose 3.73% or 0.31 points to trade at 8.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Italgas SpA (BIT: IG ) added 3.64% or 0.24 points to end at 6.83 and A2A SpA (BIT: A2 ) was up 3.50% or 0.08 points to 2.31 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tenaris SA (BIT: TENR ), which fell 9.85% or 1.79 points to trade at 16.35 at the close. Saipem SpA (BIT: SPMI ) declined 9.02% or 0.19 points to end at 1.94 and STMicroelectronics (BIT: STMMI ) was down 8.32% or 1.66 points to 18.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 449 to 96 and 34 ended unchanged.
Shares in Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA (BIT: TRN ) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.73% or 0.31 to 8.68. Shares in Italgas SpA (BIT: IG ) rose to all time highs; up 3.64% or 0.24 to 6.83. Shares in STMicroelectronics (BIT: STMMI ) fell to 3-years lows; down 8.32% or 1.66 to 18.25.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 6.90% or 4.95 to $66.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 6.51% or 4.88 to hit $70.07 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.22% or 38.61 to trade at $3,127.59 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.72% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP rose 1.03% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.77% at 101.66.
