Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology , Consumer & Cyclical and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 3.08% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MDAX index fell 2.15%, and the TecDAX index lost 3.95%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR: VNAn ), which rose 7.43% or 1.84 points to trade at 26.61 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE (ETR: EONGn ) added 4.40% or 0.62 points to end at 14.59 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR: RHMG ) was up 4.32% or 56.00 points to 1,353.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG (ETR: ADSGN ), which fell 11.72% or 25.90 points to trade at 195.10 at the close. Siemens AG Class N (ETR: SIEGn ) declined 8.04% or 17.27 points to end at 197.48 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR: IFXGn ) was down 7.96% or 2.43 points to 28.17.

The top performers on the MDAX were Tag Immobilien AG (ETR: TEGG ) which rose 6.88% to 13.20, Deutsche Wohnen AG (ETR: DWNG ) which was up 5.34% to settle at 20.90 and LEG Immobilien AG (ETR: LEGn ) which gained 5.25% to close at 68.58.

The worst performers were Puma SE (ETR: PUMG ) which was down 11.16% to 20.29 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (ETR: JENGn ) which lost 10.72% to settle at 16.82 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR: WCHG ) which was down 8.70% to 65.90 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR: NDXG ) which rose 2.82% to 15.33, IONOS Group SE (ETR: IOSn ) which was up 2.09% to settle at 26.90 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR: COKG ) which gained 1.82% to close at 24.66.

The worst performers were SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR: SMHNn ) which was down 11.63% to 31.15 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR: NA9n ) which lost 11.05% to settle at 68.00 and Jenoptik AG (ETR: JENGn ) which was down 10.72% to 16.82 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 512 to 137 and 59 ended unchanged.

Shares in Adidas AG (ETR: ADSGN ) fell to 52-week lows; falling 11.72% or 25.90 to 195.10. Shares in E.ON SE (ETR: EONGn ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 4.40% or 0.62 to 14.59. Shares in Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR: IFXGn ) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.96% or 2.43 to 28.17. Shares in Puma SE (ETR: PUMG ) fell to 5-year lows; down 11.16% or 2.55 to 20.29. Shares in Jenoptik AG (ETR: JENGn ) fell to 3-years lows; down 10.72% or 2.02 to 16.82. Shares in SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR: SMHNn ) fell to 52-week lows; losing 11.63% or 4.10 to 31.15. Shares in Jenoptik AG (ETR: JENGn ) fell to 3-years lows; falling 10.72% or 2.02 to 16.82.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.04% to 21.14.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.13% or 35.84 to $3,130.36 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 7.00% or 5.02 to hit $66.69 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 6.58% or 4.93 to trade at $70.02 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 1.77% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP rose 1.04% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.82% at 101.61.
