Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas , Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 3.31% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index declined 3.17%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Danone SA (EPA: DANO ), which rose 3.64% or 2.56 points to trade at 72.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Orange SA (EPA: ORAN ) added 3.54% or 0.43 points to end at 12.42 and Engie SA (EPA: ENGIE ) was up 2.63% or 0.49 points to 18.92 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA: STMPA ), which fell 8.41% or 1.67 points to trade at 18.24 at the close. Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ) declined 8.12% or 0.83 points to end at 9.37 and Kering SA (EPA: PRTP ) was down 7.51% or 14.42 points to 177.58.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Gecina SA (EPA: GFCP ) which rose 3.83% to 89.40, Danone SA (EPA: DANO ) which was up 3.64% to settle at 72.98 and Orange SA (EPA: ORAN ) which gained 3.54% to close at 12.42.

The worst performers were Aperam SA (AS: APAM ) which was down 9.57% to 27.20 in late trade, Soitec SA (EPA: SOIT ) which lost 9.25% to settle at 46.28 and Viridien SA (EPA: VIRI ) which was down 8.41% to 64.40 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 361 to 140 and 77 ended unchanged.

Shares in Danone SA (EPA: DANO ) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.64% or 2.56 to 72.98. Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (EPA: STMPA ) fell to 3-years lows; down 8.41% or 1.67 to 18.24. Shares in Orange SA (EPA: ORAN ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 3.54% or 0.43 to 12.42. Shares in Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ) fell to 3-years lows; falling 8.12% or 0.83 to 9.37. Shares in Engie SA (EPA: ENGIE ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.63% or 0.49 to 18.92. Shares in Kering SA (EPA: PRTP ) fell to 5-year lows; down 7.51% or 14.42 to 177.58. Shares in Danone SA (EPA: DANO ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 3.64% or 2.56 to 72.98. Shares in Soitec SA (EPA: SOIT ) fell to 5-year lows; falling 9.25% or 4.72 to 46.28. Shares in Orange SA (EPA: ORAN ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 3.54% or 0.43 to 12.42.

The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.14% or 36.09 to $3,130.11 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 6.99% or 5.01 to hit $66.70 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 6.58% or 4.93 to trade at $70.02 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 1.77% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP rose 1.05% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.80% at 101.63.
