Finland stocks lower at close of trade; OMX Helsinki 25 down 2.51%

Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms , Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 2.51% to hit a new 1-month low.

The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kojamo (HE: KOJAMO ), which rose 6.49% or 0.56 points to trade at 9.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Kesko Oyj (HE: KESKOB ) added 2.48% or 0.47 points to end at 19.39 and Fortum Oyj (HE: FORTUM ) was up 1.61% or 0.23 points to 14.18 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Metso Oyj (HE: METSO ), which fell 8.11% or 0.78 points to trade at 8.82 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HE: NOKIA ) declined 7.97% or 0.40 points to end at 4.57 and Kalmar Oyj (HE: KALMAR ) was down 7.95% or 2.48 points to 28.65.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 135 to 40 and 15 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for June delivery was down 6.58% or 4.93 to $70.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 6.99% or 5.01 to hit $66.70 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.08% or 34.10 to trade at $3,132.10 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 1.79% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP rose 1.04% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.82% at 101.61.
