Norway stocks lower at close of trade; Oslo OBX down 2.11%

Investing.com – Norway stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Media , Transport and Diversified Financials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX lost 2.11%.

The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Kongsberg Gruppen ASA (OL: KOG ), which rose 4.01% or 61.00 points to trade at 1,583.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Orkla ASA (OL: ORK ) added 1.32% or 1.50 points to end at 115.20 and Telenor ASA (OL: TEL ) was up 0.67% or 1.00 points to 150.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were TGS NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL: TGS ), which fell 11.79% or 11.50 points to trade at 86.05 at the close. Var Energi ASA (OL: VAR ) declined 7.13% or 2.38 points to end at 30.99 and Aker BP ASA (OL: AKRBP ) was down 6.68% or 16.40 points to 229.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 202 to 78 and 21 ended unchanged.

Shares in TGS NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL: TGS ) fell to 3-years lows; losing 11.79% or 11.50 to 86.05.

Crude oil for May delivery was down 7.80% or 5.59 to $66.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 7.16% or 5.37 to hit $69.58 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.43% or 13.49 to trade at $3,152.71 a troy ounce.

EUR/NOK was up 1.22% to 11.43, while USD/NOK fell 1.18% to 10.28.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 2.29% at 101.12.
