Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 1.77%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking , Telecoms and Household sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 1.77%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Coca Cola HBC AG (AT: EEEr ), which rose 2.67% or 1.12 points to trade at 43.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Hellenic Telecommunications Organization SA (AT: OTEr ) added 1.92% or 0.30 points to end at 15.91 and Profile Syst (AT: PRFr ) was up 1.36% or 0.07 points to 5.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT: EURBr ), which fell 5.00% or 0.13 points to trade at 2.47 at the close. Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT: ELHA ) declined 4.18% or 0.09 points to end at 2.07 and Hellenic Exchanges Athens Stock Exchange SA (AT: EXCr ) was down 3.97% or 0.22 points to 5.32.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 103 to 28 and 13 ended unchanged.

Shares in Coca Cola HBC AG (AT: EEEr ) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.67% or 1.12 to 43.14.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.29% or 9.04 to $3,157.16 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 7.73% or 5.54 to hit $66.17 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 7.08% or 5.31 to trade at $69.64 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 2.39% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP rose 1.22% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 2.32% at 101.10.
