Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 2.96%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Real Estate , Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 2.96%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Atacadao SA (BVMF: CRFB3 ), which rose 10.77% or 0.80 points to trade at 8.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF: BEEF3 ) added 0.15% or 0.01 points to end at 6.47 and Klabin Unt (BVMF: KLBN11 ) was up 0.05% or 0.01 points to 18.55 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Brava Energia SA (BVMF: BRAV3 ), which fell 12.92% or 2.72 points to trade at 18.34 at the close. Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF: VAMO3 ) declined 9.92% or 0.48 points to end at 4.36 and Petroreconcavo SA (BVMF: RECV3 ) was down 8.60% or 1.35 points to 14.35.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 812 to 192 and 43 ended unchanged.

Shares in Petroreconcavo SA (BVMF: RECV3 ) fell to 3-years lows; losing 8.60% or 1.35 to 14.35.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.91% to 28.63.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 2.02% or 63.20 to $3,058.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 6.53% or 4.37 to hit $62.58 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 4.48% or 17.25 to trade at $368.00 .

USD/BRL was up 3.94% to 5.85, while EUR/BRL rose 2.88% to 6.40.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.06% at 102.88.
