Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.28%
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.28% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Regional SAB de CV (BMV: RA ), which rose 3.19% or 3.94 points to trade at 127.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: MEGACPO ) added 3.09% or 1.26 points to end at 42.09 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV: BOLSAA ) was up 2.50% or 0.89 points to 36.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were GCC SAB de CV (BMV: GCC ), which fell 3.39% or 5.97 points to trade at 169.93 at the close. Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV: VOLARA ) declined 3.24% or 0.33 points to end at 9.84 and America Movil SAB de CV M (BMV: AMXB ) was down 2.37% or 0.34 points to 14.01.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 153 to 96 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV: VOLARA ) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.24% or 0.33 to 9.84. Shares in America Movil SAB de CV M (BMV: AMXB ) fell to 3-years lows; down 2.37% or 0.34 to 14.01.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.83% or 24.55 to $2,998.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 4.09% or 2.48 to hit $58.22 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $61.60 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.06% to 20.85, while EUR/MXN rose 0.10% to 22.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 102.73.
