Russia stocks higher at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index up 0.46%

Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms , Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index added 0.46%.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Polyus PJSC (MCX: PLZL ), which rose 2.87% or 49.60 points to trade at 1,776.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Transneft PJSC Pref (MCX: TRNF_p ) added 1.64% or 20.00 points to end at 1,216.00 and GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX: AGRODR ) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 1,083.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX: AFKS ), which fell 6.53% or 0.96 points to trade at 13.73 at the close. VK Company Ltd (MCX: VKCO ) declined 6.22% or 16.00 points to end at 241.10 and PIK SHb PJSC (MCX: PIKK ) was down 5.99% or 28.30 points to 444.20.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 151 to 99 and 4 ended unchanged.

Shares in GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX: AGRODR ) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 1,083.80.

The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 10.33% to 64.29 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.83% or 24.55 to $2,998.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 4.09% or 2.48 to hit $58.22 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $61.60 a barrel.

USD/RUB was down 0.03% to 85.82, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 94.02.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 102.73.
