Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 1.05%
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumption , Real Estate and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.05%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF: VAMO3 ), which rose 12.73% or 0.55 points to trade at 4.87 at the close. Meanwhile, SLC Agricola SA (BVMF: SLCE3 ) added 6.01% or 1.14 points to end at 20.12 and Brava Energia SA (BVMF: BRAV3 ) was up 5.24% or 0.86 points to 17.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF: IRBR3 ), which fell 6.65% or 3.18 points to trade at 44.63 at the close. Natura & Co SA (BVMF: NTCO3 ) declined 1.16% or 0.11 points to end at 9.37 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (BVMF: SUZB3 ) was down 1.15% or 0.60 points to 51.64.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 655 to 284 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in SLC Agricola SA (BVMF: SLCE3 ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.01% or 1.14 to 20.12.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.91% to 28.63.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.37% or 75.19 to $3,252.69 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.38% or 1.43 to hit $61.50 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract rose 5.00% or 17.15 to trade at $360.00 .
USD/BRL was down 0.28% to 5.87, while EUR/BRL rose 4.39% to 6.66.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.98% at 99.63.
