Portugal stocks higher at close of trade; PSI up 1.81%
Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities , Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 1.81%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI: EDPR ), which rose 5.00% or 0.36 points to trade at 7.46 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI: EDP ) added 4.01% or 0.12 points to end at 3.06 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI: BCP ) was up 1.98% or 0.01 points to 0.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ), which fell 0.15% or 0.01 points to trade at 6.65 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (ELI: IBS ) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 8.70 and Galp Energia Nom (ELI: GALP ) was up 0.04% or 0.01 points to 12.72.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 19 to 3 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.85% or 0.54 to $63.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.92% or 0.55 to hit $60.62 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 2.58% or 81.89 to trade at $3,259.39 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.13% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.48% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.72% at 99.89.
