Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas , Industrials and Technology sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.30%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.19%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA: STMPA ), which rose 4.01% or 0.68 points to trade at 17.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (EPA: PRTP ) added 3.55% or 5.76 points to end at 168.02 and Societe Generale SA (EPA: SOGN ) was up 2.49% or 0.90 points to 37.07 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ), which fell 3.91% or 0.31 points to trade at 7.67 at the close. Safran SA (EPA: SAF ) declined 3.44% or 7.30 points to end at 204.70 and Airbus Group SE (EPA: AIR ) was down 3.30% or 4.60 points to 134.86.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Rubis SCA (EPA: RUBF ) which rose 6.96% to 24.90, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA: STMPA ) which was up 4.01% to settle at 17.58 and Biomerieux SA (EPA: BIOX ) which gained 3.74% to close at 113.80.

The worst performers were Emeis SA (EPA: EMEIS ) which was down 7.08% to 10.31 in late trade, Viridien SA (EPA: VIRI ) which lost 6.33% to settle at 46.78 and Clariane SE (EPA: CLARI ) which was down 5.16% to 3.64 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 265 to 221 and 81 ended unchanged.

Shares in Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.91% or 0.31 to 7.67.

The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.64% or 84.04 to $3,261.54 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.93% or 0.56 to hit $60.63 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.87% or 0.55 to trade at $63.88 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 1.19% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.51% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.77% at 99.84.
