Belgium stocks higher at close of trade; BEL 20 up 1.09%
Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods , Healthcare and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.09%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (EBR: ELI ), which rose 5.68% or 4.60 points to trade at 85.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (EBR: ARGX ) added 4.55% or 22.20 points to end at 510.40 and D’Ieteren NV (EBR: IETB ) was up 2.26% or 3.50 points to 158.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR: AZE ), which fell 2.94% or 0.45 points to trade at 14.88 at the close. Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ) declined 1.46% or 0.11 points to end at 7.43 and UCB SA (EBR: UCB ) was down 0.85% or 1.15 points to 133.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 56 to 30 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ) fell to 5-year lows; falling 1.46% or 0.11 to 7.43.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.56% or 81.39 to $3,258.89 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.93% or 0.56 to hit $60.63 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.87% or 0.55 to trade at $63.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.16% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.52% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.74% at 99.87.
