Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 2.78%
Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Plastic , Transport and Other Electronic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 2.78%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW: 1538 ), which rose 10.00% or 2.25 points to trade at 24.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Swancor Holding Co Ltd (TW: 3708 ) added 10.00% or 6.10 points to end at 67.10 and Wistron Corp (TW: 3231 ) was up 9.99% or 8.20 points to 90.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lung Ming Green Energy Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW: 3018 ), which fell 9.95% or 2.05 points to trade at 18.55 at the close. Microelectronics Technology Inc (TW: 2314 ) declined 9.91% or 0.99 points to end at 9.00 and Answer Technology Co Ltd (TW: 3528 ) was down 9.44% or 5.90 points to 56.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Microelectronics Technology Inc (TW: 2314 ) fell to 5-year lows; falling 9.91% or 0.99 to 9.00.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.08% or 0.05 to $61.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $64.80 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 5.16 to trade at $3,249.76 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.35% to 32.47, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.25% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.58% at 99.31.
