Turkey stocks lower at close of trade; BIST 100 down 1.36%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring , Sports and Textile & Leather sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.36%.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Oba Makarnacilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS: OBAMS ), which rose 5.31% or 3.35 points to trade at 66.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS: ASELS ) added 3.95% or 4.60 points to end at 121.20 and Ral Yatirim Holding AS (IS: RALYH ) was up 3.55% or 3.70 points to 108.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Margun Enerji Uretim Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS: MAGEN ), which fell 4.79% or 1.40 points to trade at 27.80 at the close. Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS: KARSN ) declined 4.76% or 0.51 points to end at 10.20 and Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS: PGSUS ) was down 4.47% or 11.75 points to 251.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 507 to 83 and 2 ended unchanged.

Shares in Ral Yatirim Holding AS (IS: RALYH ) rose to all time highs; up 3.55% or 3.70 to 108.00.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.85% or 92.21 to $3,332.61 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.09% or 1.28 to hit $62.61 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.95% or 1.26 to trade at $65.93 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.14% to 38.13, while EUR/TRY rose 1.46% to 43.58.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.64% at 99.32.
