Netherlands stocks lower at close of trade; AEX down 0.42%

Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology , Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.42%.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were Heineken (AS: HEIN ), which rose 5.03% or 3.78 points to trade at 78.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Shell PLC (AS: SHEL ) added 1.79% or 0.50 points to end at 28.47 and NN Group NV (AS: NN ) was up 1.27% or 0.64 points to 50.90 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ASML Holding NV (AS: ASML ), which fell 5.19% or 31.40 points to trade at 574.00 at the close. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS: BESI ) declined 3.20% or 3.12 points to end at 94.26 and ASM International NV (AS: ASMI ) was down 3.16% or 12.90 points to 395.10.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 54 to 44 and 8 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.83% or 1.12 to $62.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.75% or 1.13 to hit $65.80 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 3.16% or 102.44 to trade at $3,342.84 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.93% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP rose 0.78% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.78% at 99.18.
