Turkey stocks higher at close of trade; BIST 100 up 0.05%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Metal Products & Machinery , Tourism and Non-Metal Mineral Products sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.05%.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS: TOASO ), which rose 9.97% or 17.60 points to trade at 194.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS: GSRAY ) added 9.63% or 0.18 points to end at 2.05 and Isiklar Enerji ve Yapi Holding AS (IS: IEYHO ) was up 8.15% or 0.97 points to 12.87 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Grainturk Holding AS (IS: GRTHO ), which fell 9.90% or 38.25 points to trade at 348.00 at the close. Mia Teknoloji AS (IS: MIATK ) declined 8.17% or 3.24 points to end at 36.44 and Oba Makarnacilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS: OBAMS ) was down 5.48% or 4.00 points to 69.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 341 to 228 and 26 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 3.14% or 104.49 to $3,432.89 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.67% or 1.71 to hit $62.30 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.66% or 1.81 to trade at $66.15 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 1.44% to 38.20, while EUR/TRY rose 2.60% to 44.01.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.97% at 98.17.
