Poland stocks higher at close of trade; WIG30 up 0.54%
Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Energy , Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.54% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA: PGE ), which rose 3.01% or 0.23 points to trade at 7.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA: TPE ) added 2.91% or 0.16 points to end at 5.73 and Allegro (WA: ALEP ) was up 2.18% or 0.72 points to 33.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Text SA (WA: TXTP ), which fell 2.04% or 1.10 points to trade at 52.70 at the close. CCC SA (WA: CCCP ) declined 1.58% or 3.70 points to end at 230.60 and Alior Bank SA (WA: ALRR ) was down 1.32% or 1.50 points to 112.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 259 to 246 and 120 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA: TPE ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.91% or 0.16 to 5.73.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.05% or 0.03 to $62.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $66.11 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.33% or 43.76 to trade at $3,337.86 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.19% to 4.27, while USD/PLN fell 0.53% to 3.76.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 99.35.
